Thank You, Knight Foundation, For Supporting TheLi.st
Wonderful news ‘round these parts: The Knight Foundation, generous funders of innovation, journalism, community engagement and the arts, announced their latest round of projects funded - and TheLi.st is among them!
From their announcement:
TheLi.st, Rachel Sklar & Glynnis MacNicol
Rachel Sklar, creator of Change the Ratio (a project aimed at increasing the presence and success of women in technology and entrepreneurship), is taking her community of leading women to the next level. Sklar and MacNicol are launching TheLi.st, a hub for women in technology that includes a subscription listserve and discussion community, free content and resources for women in the field, and events and convenings on the topic. Knight Foundation is supporting TheLi.st’s work to engage more women in innovation and technology, and to support their rise and success in the space.
We are so excited to be working with Knight. In addition to being one of the most pivotal, forward-looking and generous foundations around (they announced a staggering $1.8-billionth dollar granted yesterday at the Awesome Foundation Summit, which of course they also support), they’ve also already been so fantastic to TheLi.st - we were so grateful that they supported us right out of the gate during the Knight #NewsChallenge, and took us right to the finals. Though we were not ultimately quite a fit for the #NewsChallenge, Knight saw the importance of our mission (raising visibility, access & opportunity for women across tech, new media, entrepreneurship and beyond) and committed to working with us to expand that vision going forward. This is the first step of what we know will be an amazing partnership, and we are so grateful to Knight for making it happen - and for everything else they make happen, too.
Huzzah! A good day!
