This.
Reposted from Sept. 2010, because my updated “Who We Are” post got eaten by Tumblr in yet another epic non-save. (Seriously, Tumblr. AUTOSAVE.) Anyhoo, for clarity, a flashback:
This tumblr clearly needs a “Who We Are” section but I can’t figure out how to keep the design clean (the theme makes you put the tagline under the title, and I can’t make it not look awful). So in the meantime, because its absence has been pointed out: Change The Ratio is the written outpost of the advocacy-and-awesomeness group of the same name, which advocates for greater visibility, access and opportunity for women in new media and tech, and beyond. It has its roots in April 2010 in response to this and kicked off officially in June 2010 with a standing-room crowd at this. It is written by CTR co-founder, Rachel Sklar, which explains this, whose other co-founder is Emily Gannett, who is a genius at whipping up events like this. We get irritated by stuff like this, horrified by stuff like this and inspired by stuff like this. We work with amazing people like this and this and this and this and this. That’ll do for now.
Sometimes people ask.
